Why I do what I do:

Growing up, I heard stories about my Great Grandmother (or, affectionately to all of us, Gran-Gran) and how her creativity thrived during the Great Depression. My Gran-Gran would look at store dress displays and fall in love, but she never had the money to buy them. 

So, what did she do? She memorized the look of the dress, all her favorite parts of it, and went home to cut her own pattern for it out of newspaper and make the dress herself with whatever materials she had.

Creativity runs through my veins- and I bet it runs in yours, too! 

That’s why I started this blog. Gran-Gran’s stories inspire me to always find another way, to see if I can do something myself cheaper than the store bought version. I am always making, finding, and researching ways to save creatively, so I figured, why not share my findings and spread a little of that pixie dust around. 

Because let's be honest, we could all use a little more pixie dust in our lives.

So, let me introduce myself a bit: 
I’m a USA-based professional freelance writer with experience ranging from journalism to children’s fiction, and everything in between. I’m an avid crocheter, a story addict, traveler (would LOVE to go to Scotland one day), and a dog lover. And most importantly, I'm excited to start this journey with you.
