I’ve got a golden ticket! Well, not really. It's a fancy coupon for a free package of Purina dog treats.
Five years ago we rescued our sweet and spunky Rosie. In honor of her gotcha day, I have a special freebie for all dog (and cat) lovers: a free coupon for a package of Purina treats! While birthday dog freebies aren’t really a thing, some companies out there send free dog treats samples by mail.
Instead of sending out a sample, Purina sends you a coupon to claim a free package of treats on your next shopping trip!

How To Get the Coupon from My Purina App
To snag this tasty treat, download the My Purina app on your phone and sign up for an account. Signing up is super easy! If you have a Google, Apple, or social media account, you can utilize that for quick sign-up or register with your email address to set it all up.
The app prompts you to set up your address so they can ship you the coupon shortly after! You can also earn extra points by creating a profile for your pet(s).
How Long Did It Take To Arrive?
It took 18 days from when I signed up for the My Purina app to receive my coupon, similar in timing to getting a free dog treats sample by mail. Since this dog freebie coupon is like a sample, the timing made sense to me.
Side note: Purina emailed me the day I got my physical coupon to tell me there was a coupon available on my app. So, hypothetically speaking, there’s a chance you could use a digital version of the coupon and not worry about the physical copy. However, I was unable to find it when I looked.
The coupon is good for 12 months! So you can save it for a rainy day.
Where to Redeem Dog Freebies Coupon from My Purina App
When you get your shiny coupon, it will tell you on the front that it is redeemable for “(up to $4.00) one 1 oz or larger package of Fancy Feast Cat Treats or Friskies Cat Treats, or one 6 oz or larger pouch of Busy Dog Treats or Beggin’ Dog Treats.”
This manufacturer’s coupon is redeemable at any of your favorite stores to buy Purina products.

What is the My Purina App Used For?
Okay, now you have this app on your phone and a freebie coming your way, but should you keep the app? Will it be useful any further?
The answer depends on your shopping habits.
If you purchase Purina products, you could save more money on those products by continuing to use the My Purina app.
You earn points with every receipt you upload to the app that features Purina products you purchased. It’s 10 points for every dollar you spend. You also earn 400 points for setting up your pet’s profile on the app. You can redeem the points for coupons or products. For example, a $3 free treat coupon costs 600 points.
You also get a free year of Petzey Pet Telehealth. I have not tested this program yet since I’m more in favor of in-person vet visits. However, it’s a great idea for simple check-ins if you have minor concerns about your pet’s health.
